Roosevelt Sousa
Roosevelt Sousa is a well-known figure in jiu-jitsu, renowned for his unique combination of strength, agility, and athleticism in the ultra-heavyweight division. Originally a volleyball player, Sousa transitioned to jiu-jitsu in 2014 and quickly made his mark. With just six years of training, he earned his black belt in 2020, backed by numerous major tournament wins.Beyond competing, Sousa has accumulated 9 years of experience as a jiu-jitsu coach, where he’s known for developing athletes with his blend of technical insight and competitive experience. His own achievements include titles at both brown and black belt levels, such as the IBJJF Pan American Championship and the World Championship. As a black belt, he continued to excel, winning the AJP King of Mats, the AJP Grand Slam, and a bronze medal at the ADCC, one of the most prestigious no-gi competitions worldwide.
